From Rosacea to Warts, Our AdvaTX Infrared Laser Technology Remedies a Wide Range of Skin Conditions
If you have vascular and nonvascular complaints about your facial skin, you’ll be glad to know we’ve got a laser that can handle all of them at one go.

From acne to large pores to vascular problems, there are many things that can mar your complexion. Fortunately, there are ways of addressing all of them with just a single treatment.

At Primecare Family Practice, board-certified family practitioners Maryline Ongangi, APRN, FNP-C and Lewis Nyantika, APRN, FNP-C are proud to offer the AdvaTX aesthetic laser from Reveal in addition to our other forms of laser treatments. The AdvaTX is FDA-cleared to address 21 different aesthetic conditions. Here’s what you need to know.

Vascular conditions of the face

Vascular lesions are reddish or purplish patches of ruptured blood vessels that are close to the surface of the skin — i.e. spider veins, port wine stains, rosacea, hemangiomas, and broken capillaries. While some may be congenital (present at birth), others become visible at some point between infancy and adulthood. These acquired vascular lesions include cherry angiomas, spider veins, and varicose veins (telangiectasia).

Additional vascular problems are hemangiomas, large, colored lesions caused by a group of blood vessels, while a venous lake is a single dilated blood vessel that shows brightly through the skin. Because the blood trapped in the vessel doesn’t have any oxygen in it, these can often appear blue.

Vascular lesions can be any size, shape or intensity of color. The brightly colored lesions dramatically contrast with the person’s natural tone, and they can cause deep-seated psychological problems such as social anxiety, social phobia, and low self-esteem.

Meet the AdvaTX laser

The Reveal AdvaTX laser combines the gold-standard light wavelength that addresses all those vascular abnormalities at the same time it performs a non-ablative resurfacing of your entire face. It’s a comfortable, pain-free experience that doesn’t come with some of the more problematic side effects of other facial and anti-aging treatments. And the handpiece can handle multiple standalone and combination therapies to address your unique skin concerns.

AdvaTX laser treatment uses both 589 nm (yellow) and 1319 nm (infrared) light that focuses at a single spot or scanned pattern, allowing the doctor to customize the treatment of red, blue, and purple vascular conditions; active acne and acne scars; and discoloration such as unwanted pigment (sun spots), while at the same time limiting oil production, shrinking pores, reducing wrinkles, improving texture, and leaving your skin with a youthful glow. There’s no bruising, purpura, or scarring after treatment.

To date, the manufacturer has treated over 2,000 patients with a variety of skin conditions, and no adverse events have been reported. Given that its sample size was small, Reveal is continuing formal clinical trials with the AdvaTX laser to gather more data.
